1. What Access PEI Actually Handles
Access PEI is the provincial government's one-stop counter. A single visit covers driver's licences, vehicle registration, PEI Health Card applications, property tax payments, marriage licence bookings, and recreational permits.

2. Handle It by Phone Before You Drive Anywhere
Driver's licence renewals, vehicle registration renewals, and address changes can all be completed through Contact PEI without a branch visit.

A mobile unit also serves the Queen Elizabeth Hospital cafeteria in Charlottetown twice a month, limited to QEH staff, patients, and family members.
4. Hours of Operation
- October to May: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- June to September: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Seniors' priority hour (age 60 and older): Charlottetown, Royalty Crossing, Cornwall, and Summerside, every Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- French-language service is available at the Wellington location.
5. Check the Line Before You Drive Over
Charlottetown, Cornwall, Montague, Royalty Crossing, and Summerside post live wait times and queue counts on the provincial website. Check it before heading out, particularly around lunch hour or the first business day after a long weekend, when Access PEI Charlottetown routinely sees the longest lines on the Island.
